The "Army Lacing" method originated in the military, where soldiers needed to lace their shoes quickly and efficiently. This method is simple and very effective, especially for shoes with 6 to 8 eyelets. It's a practical way to lace your shoes without any hassle.

Step 1

Place the shoe in front of you with the toe facing you. Thread the lace from the inside out through the bottom eyelets. This creates a straight line across the front of the shoe, with the lace ends pointing outwards.

Step 2

Take the lace ends and thread them through the eyelets directly above, from the outside in.

Thread the laces diagonally from the inside out through the eyelet on the opposite side, creating a cross pattern. Repeat this for both lace ends.

Step 5

Continue threading the laces until you reach the top eyelets. Here, you can secure the lace ends with a closure of your choice.

Finishing with Elastic Laces

If you're using elastic laces, you can easily secure the ends with a twist capsule. More details can be found in our elastic laces guide.
